MadNat at the Zephyr Campsite. We went to Zephyr on our only GOOD DAY. We fished, and climbed the hill. This would be the only day where the weather cooperated.
MadNat by the Canoe at Zephyr.
Me and Natalie on a nice sitting log on the Zephyr campsite.
Another pic of me and Nat on Zephyr.
A special Place.
MadNat on top of a hill on the Third Bay Campsite.
Natalie leaning against a tree at Zephyr Campsite.
Nice view from the top of a hill on the Third Bay Campsite.
MadNat on the hill.
Me and Nat on the same hill on Third Bay.
Natalie........in the canoe and READY to go. Again, this was the ONLY good day of the entire trip.
Baking banana nut bread in the reflector oven. This was one of the hilights of the trip. Natalie really liked the bread, and I did too.
Another bread baking picture.
We setup a decent kitchen area, and this is where I did most of my cooking. With only two of us, it made for easy cooking. I was makingn Red Beans annd Rice here from Zatarains. MM GOOD.
Nice pic of our canoe at the 3rd bay campsite on Saganaga.
My tent on the best pad at the 3rd bay campsite. There is another decent pad up the hill, but I didn't want to take it. This one was not too bad, but this site definitely does not have many trees.
Natalie......Stoking the fire, waiting on the lemon poppy bread I made for round 2 of reflector oven baking. Again, it was pretty good.
I was using my fish finder with temp to determine the outside temps for the day. We had highs of 50 and lows of about 35. It was REALLY cold for this time of year.
Rain, Rain.........GO AWAY. it rained basically for 2 straight days. We ended packing up 4 days early and leaving. I think the day we left it started raining around noon and rained for 2 more days. GOOD DECISION.
More RAIN.
Natalie, eating a cheese stick. We broke one of my MAJOR rules here. I NEVER eat in the tent, but with the ugly weather, I made an exception on this trip.
Man.........RAIN SUCKS. I reallyl had had enough.
Packed back up, and ready to head back home. It is a pretty LONG drive. We ended up driving to Eau Claire and staying the night, then driving the rest of the way home the next day.
This is Natalies Cavalier. it did really good, managing about 28mpg, even with the canoe on top. NOT bad, if you ask me.
